For this month’s Meet the Team, we head to the Big Apple to chat with newly-minted Director of Licensing, Matt McMullian. Interesting fact about Matt is he’s actually from England, and once met Smokey Robinson at the Ivor Novello awards in London! Apparently, he looked younger than most of the people there!

What are your top 3 favorite Warner/Chappell Production Music tracks?

So tough! I really love the newly released “Hummingbird in a Box” from the Peter Frampton Artist Series album of the same name. I also really dig “Roi Dagobert” and “Palm Reader” from Pedigree Cuts.

What is your favorite part of your job?

Collaborating with likeminded, creative people to envisage the perfect finished production from an early concept and contributing musically to that process.

What is your favorite vacation spot?

Nowadays, it is London. It just feels like home when I go back.

What is your favorite album of all time? You can only choose one.

Well, I’m very tempted to go with Who’s Next by The Who, but I will choose the one currently in my CD player and that’s Please Please Me by The Beatles. They recorded 10 songs in one day with three sessions at Abbey Road! That’s simply amazing.
